Making public transit easy and accessible.
Tikkit is a localized transit app that empowers users to explore new cities via public transportation. By harnessing the power of localized technology, Tikkit is the only transit app you’ll ever need. The interface remains the same and populates with local transit information, lowering language and cultural barriers. Videos and instructions of how to interact with new forms of transit and sourced from locals and rated by tourists, so you know the information is reliable. Travel, learn and think like a local.
This case study was completed over the course of 10-weeks as part of the BrainStation full-time UX program.

Of users feel comfortable using public transit.
Said they would prefer to purchase and store tickets on their phone.
Said they have run into language barriers when travelling and trying to use public transit.
Of people have opted, at some point, not to use public transit because they couldn’t figure out how to maneuver through it.
Users' main concerns were not knowing where to buy tickets and not knowing how to use the new method of transit. They were nervous using public transportation in a new city as they didn’t want to look like they didn’t know where they were going and seem like a tourist. They were afraid someone would try to take advantage of them.
People also found that they lost their tickets or didn’t realize they needed to keep them to transfer forms of transit. The information was not clearly stated in a way they understood. If they could always access it on their phone, they would never lose record of the transaction.
